The Rotary Club of Laguna Sunrise plays an important role in the Elk Grove community, as well as in the greater world of Rotary International. Some of the local programs the club supports are:

•Taste of Elk Grove – Annual Fundraiser to raise money to support our 5 avenues of service in which we assist our community with  hands on service projects.  In addition, Elk Grove has other small non profits which we can assist with labor and donations to keep their programs running.

•Thanksgiving Dinner and Holiday gifts for local underprivileged families.

•Elk Grove Senior Center - With their mission to continue to enhance the lives of people age 50 and over. In 2013 helped erect a much needed storage shed for their ever growing Arts & Crafts area

•Dictionary Project- Donations of resource books for Title 1 schools to have a current book to utilize in classroom with students.  
  • Before/ After school fitness programs- Our club is committed to providing physical education in as many schools as possible for our youth. Since 2012 we have given at least $500 toward the youth fitness program provided by Running for Rhett non-profit program that serves our children in the E.G.U.S.D.
  • Elk Grove Foundation scholarships- Laguna Sunrise donates a $1000 each year to go towards local high school students who will be attending College and aspiring to benefit their communities.
•Speech Contest – Annual contest among Elk Grove high school students with influence on how they can serve their community. 

•Interact Club- Rotary Clubs organize and sponsor youth clubs for students age 14 to 18 years old; Laguna Sunrise supports the Interact Clubs at Franklin, Laguna Creek and Cosumnes High Schools.

The Rotary Club of Laguna Sunrise also supports many  International Rotary projects through giving and participation in the activities of the Rotary Foundation. Our members host group Study Exchange participants form other countries, as well as sponsoring teams going to other countries.  El Salvador Housing project., Mexico clean water project and Bangladesh goat project  We also assist in sending Ambassadorial scholars overseas and host those coming to the U.S.

Rotary is probably best known for its international campaign, “Polio Plus,” to eradicate polio, This project has immunized more than a half billion children in developing nations. Come to check out our club 2013 theme "Engage Rotary Change Lives"
