Senior Citizen Projects

In 2011, Rotary Club members, Palermo Ristorante Italiano and students from Rotary Interact Club at Franklin High School and Laguna Creek High School served a full Thanksgiving dinner to over 80 seniors at the restaurant on Thanksgiving Day.

The guests were from the Elk Grove Food Bank, Senior Center of Elk Grove and the Vintage at Laguna Senior Apartments.

Guests arrived dressed for the special dinner with a warm spirit and some of them arrived in motorized scooters, wheelchairs, and with canes and walkers. Each guest was served a half chicken with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and dressing with gravy and pies. Many of them said that they had never received this elegant of a dinner available for the less fortunate citizens anywhere in Sacramento.

Dinner was provided by Palermo Ristorante Italiano, dessert was from Marie Callenders Restaurant, and coffee was provided by Peet's Coffee in Elk Grove.
